Scots for Baden Masters

The first World Curling Tour-Europe event of the new season, the Baden Masters, begins tomorrow. The first round draw is here.

The event is a triple knock-out with sixteen teams, to find six finalists. Eight end games. All teams start in 'A'. Losing a game drops you to the B road. Lose another and you are in the C road. Two teams qualify directly from each road for the final round. The two teams from the A road go directly to the semifinals. The other four teams from the 'B' and 'C' play off in quarterfinals.

Warwick Smith's team and David Murdoch's side from the Elite Scotland Squad are in the draw, although Murdoch will line up with two substitutes. Ewan MacDonald is still recovering from knee surgery earlier in the summer, and Euan Byers damaged himself recently when he fell off his mountain bike when out training. Opportunity then to see Graeme Connal back on the ice for Ewan, and Neil McArthur as Euan's replacement.

The event semifinal and final are to be webcast on U1 Web TV.
