Best of Friends at the Waterfront

A BBC production crew were at the Waterfront rink yesterday to film an episode for a new children's CBBC television show. The Best of Friends involves five youngsters performing several different 'tasks'.

Schools from different regions in the UK have become involved.
Five girls from primary six at Slaemuir Primary in Greenock were involved yesterday with a curling task.

Olympian Rhona Martin was their coach! She had just thirty minutes to teach the girls how to throw their stones before their televised attempt to get at least one stone into the circles.

Area Development Officer David Horne was on hand but refuses to reveal if the girls were successful. We'll have to watch the programme when it is broadcast to see the result! Great though that the sport will get national exposure, even in a lightheated way as this.
